Vanessa Brown, MD

Dr. Vanessa Brown joined the Deer Lodge Medical Center team in September of 2018. She graduated from Medical School at Loyola University Chicago in Maywood, IL where she received the Magis Star, a patient nominated award for compassion in medicine. She completed her residency at North Colorado Family Medicine in Greeley, CO and specializes in Rural Family Practice Medicine.

During her time at Clearwater Valley Hospital in Orofino, ID she was involved in several major projects including NCQA Medical home certification and Trauma level IV certification. She also implemented an antimicrobial stewardship program. In 2017 she became a licensed EMT-B in order to better serve the emergency needs of the community.

Some words from Dr. Brown:

"I was born and raised in Chicago, IL. However, despite that or maybe because of that, I developed a love of the outdoors and small-town living. This led me to pursue a career in rural family medicine seeking additional training along the way. I have spent the past 11-years working at Clearwater Hospital in Orofino, Idaho where I provided full spectrum family medicine that included extensive experience in ER medicine and hospitalist operations. The desire to continue to practice in a small-town setting combined with the goal of being closer to the mountains and the challenge of new opportunities brought me to Deer Lodge, MT."

Dr. Brown's hobbies include downhill and cross-country skiing, hiking, road biking, travel, and photography.
